Everything was just as described- but the views are better in person. John was a great host. We had to cancel our original booking almost a year ago due last minute due to Covid, but John carried out credit forward a year without us even asking. It was just two of us, so we barely used the whole place...but laid out perfectly for a large family or multiple families to visit. While there are a lot of other cabins in the resort, the location and placement of this particular cabin is such that when you are in the deck or in the cabin you feel very private. We will definitely be back. Thanks John!

Pictures did not do this cabin justice. Cabin was very spacious and very comfortable. There was plenty of room for everyone and we all had our own space, which made it very nice. We were high in the mountains, which was very quite and beautiful views. We spent early mornings on the wrap around porch drinking coffee and enjoying the sunrise and all of the mountains. We could never get enough of the sights. We were not far from Pigeon Forge or Gatlinburg. Really wished we would have had more time there.No matter where you were on the porch, there was awesome views to be seen. The owner John Valls was great to work with and answered any questions we had very promptly, which was greatly appreciated. We will definitely be back. I would recommend this property to everyone. You will not be disappointed..

This was our 3rd visit to Monte Cristo. We love the location so close to the LeConte Convention Center where we come to attend the National Quartet Convention in Sept. We have always found the home in great condition and very clean. We have 4 couples that attend and with each level having bedrooms, it affords privacy for all. The home is well equipped and we have everything needed when ready to prepare our meals. We cooked steaks on the gas grill our last evening and enjoyed a perfect view while doing so. Inside the home, my favorite place is the huge dinning table that affords the entire group to dine together. We wake each morning with such great expectations of the beautiful views and the excitement of watching the morning sunrise. We are getting excited already thinking of our annual return trip in Sept of 2018.

We took a quick trip to the Smokey Mountains this past weekend and the Monte Cristo was a perfect getaway. The views were breathtaking and the cabin offered so much more privacy than a hotel ever could. Everything we needed was at our fingertips. In fact, we cooked chicken on the grill our last night at the cabin as eating out can get expensive and is never as good as a home cooked meal. In addition, we were close enough to town and major attractions without being directly in the noise and traffic of Pigeon Forge. After a full day of sightseeing and fun, we were able to come to the cabin and relax while spending quality time together. At night, everyone had their privacy and the children were able to watch TV without disturbing the adults. They loved the spa too needless to say. Would certainly recommend the Monte Cristo to anyone looking for a clean and convenient stay.

I spent Easter weekend at Monte Cristo and the views are breath taking. If you want to see the Smokies you don’t even have to leave the cabin. The owners are wonderful to work with and very responsive to anything that may arise. You could not ask for a better view and people to work with. In fact I just booked my second trip for in October and I can tell you it wont be my last.

We booked Monte Criso based on the beautiful views shown in the ad. We were not disappointed. Not only were the views spectacular, the rooms inside the cabin were cozy, especially the downstairs sitting room. The cabin was very clean and inviting on arrival. Check in was easy and the directions very good. The location is excellent and for convenience alone its worth staying here. Being at the end of Pigeon Forge toward Gatlinburg makes access to the national park very easy while at the same time having easy access to Pigeon Forge. We did some activities but also spent a fair amount off time relaxing at the cabin, playing games, watching TV or on demand movies, playing pool and enjoying the hot tub. Monte Cristi was the perfect place to destress our family. We were 6 adults and 3 children aged 5, 3, and 2 months.

Our family of 5 stayed at the Monte Cristo this past week and had a wonderful time! The cabin is spacious and clean and the view is truly the best! We have never been to the area and had a really fun time exploring. Our best decision was choosing John's cabin! Our children (13,16,18) had plenty of space to be alone if they wanted to be, and fun things to do together like hang out in the hot tub or play a game of pool. Of course we explored all areas of Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, from the mountains to the amusements to shopping, but finding a comfortable spot to wind down and feel at home was the best part! Everyone slept great on the comfortable beds! We all had a very memorable time together as a family...Thank you John and we will be back again!

Our family has been coming to the area for Christmas for several years. We are a group of seven from ages 3 to 79... It is a time for all of us to slow down and just enjoy the time together. The Monte Cristo cabin was comfortable, convenient to everything when we wanted to go out, and the views were the most amazing we have experienced thus far in any of the rentals we have stayed in. Working with John, the owner, was a pleasure. He was always available and attentive. I would recommend this cabin to anyone who is trying to get away and spend time with family or friends.

The cabin was beautiful. Amazing views. The cabin is clean and well maintained. The photos are representative of what the cabin really looks like. The owner, Mr. Vallas, was quick in responding to email inquiries before the arrival and was very helpful. The cabin is in a great area, very close to the Parkway but far enough away that you don't hear the traffic or get in the way of the fantastic views of the mountains. 🙂 Also very close to the National Park. My family and I will definitely stay here again.

I am tempted to write a horrible review so that other people won't book this cabin in the future and I can have it all to myself....but that would not be the right thing to do to John, the owner. What a wonderful getaway in a mountain top retreat so close to the main parkway. What is it 3-4 minutes to the main Parkway by old Mill Creek road?Our family had a wonderful first trip to Pigeon Forge and despite the 104 degree visit to Dollywood all had fun. In fact, returning to the cabin right before a thunderstorm was a treat that day. Watching the storms run through the blue smoky mountains, some of which were actually BELOW us was AMAZING to watch. We slept like babies to the sound of rain on our roof. Or is sleepiness a side effect of heat stroke? ha!John was accessible and readily available by phone for any of our needs and my wishes are only the best for this caring owner.There are minor details that need addressing like maybe replacing the microwave and washer door but these are minor details that pale compared to the awesome views, the prime location to everything , the clean and comfortable cabin, and awesome customer attention John the owner provides. Will definitely look forward to staying again....maybe in fall or cooler weather...!

We were visiting the mountains for a family wedding and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Monte Cristo. It was clean and very spacious. We especially enjoyed the hot tub, the view from the porches and playing pool at the end of the day. We were close enough to the mountains for several day hikes. On our last day, was saw a huge bear in the parking lot! What a way to end our trip to the mountains.

The worst part of this cabin is the sound of the door closing as you leave to head home! The view from the porch is incredible. We never wanted to leave our rockers, even when the rain came, we still sat there watching how amazing the storm clouds looked as they came across the mountain. We were there to see the synchronized fireflies and to celebrate my Dad's 81st and are looking forward to spending his 82nd birthday there as well. There were 6 adults and the cabin was plenty big enough - we each had our own space. No need to draw straws for the bunkbeds or twin beds. All queens and kings! John was great to work with, you really don't need to look any further to find your perfect vacation home.

We were here for 3 nights and wish it could have been more, place is amazing and well View was absolutely stunning. We brought our trailer with our Goldwing to ride the dragon the road was a little steep to the cabin but there was plenty of space to park our trailer and truck, only had one issue and the Xbox wasn't working and my son was a little disappointed but like I told him we didn't come to a place like this to play video games, there was So much to do in pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg he didn't have time to worry about it. Owner was very accommodating with the issue, and was very response when we booked this is by far the best place to stay I would recommend this to anyone stay in the Smokey's for the first time, and we even had a bonus on our last night there were treated to a double rainbow, now that's a send off. ( Xbox Repaired shortly after ).

Hi, my wife & I and six other friends just stayed at the Monte Cristo Cabin, this Cabin had great views & was very clean, the pictures on the web page don’t do it justice, this Cabin is just a short ride to any place you would need or want to go.P.S.. the owners are very nice and willing to help you in anyway. We loved the Monte Cristo cabin, the pictures posted on VRBO looked just like the actual views which were just outstanding, we have some great photos of the mountains. The cabin was clean and very warm and inviting. We had 4 adult couples, and had plenty of room. The cabin is conveniently located, it only took a couple of minutes to the main street in Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. The owner John was very polite and helpful with any questions I had. Our whole group of 8, would highly recommend this cabin, and we can't wait to plan our next trip there.

We really loved the view. Breathtaking! The cabin was perfect for our four family units, giving the right amount of togetherness and privacy. It was clean, well decorated, and the instructions for departure were so simple. The owner is very helpful and responds very quickly.

Our family, consisting of 4 adult couples, recently stayed at Monte Cristo and enjoyed every minute of it! Being a local I was tasked with finding a place that was convenient yet had wonderful views which isn't always easy. When I found Monte Cristo on VRBO I knew it had the makings of a winner. Just a short drive of a little over a mile off the main strip in Pigeon Forge and just before entering the spur (road connecting Pigeon Forge to Gatlinburg) to Gatlinburg. When you drive up the cabin is very pretty and then you walk onto the wrap around deck and get to the front and you realize why millions of people come to the Smokies every year...BEAUTIFUL Mountain views!! Upon entering the cabin it was clean and very well decorated and had all the necessary appointments you may need during your visit. Even though it was a little warm, my family wanted the fireplace going 🙂 After some quick searching I was able to get it going and I made a call to the owner to suggest an instruction guide in case the pilot was out the next time someone wanted a fire. The owner was extremely polite and helpful through reservation process as well as talking with me about the fireplace. He asked if I could take a few pics and tell him what I did to get the pilot going so he could make a good guide to have for future guests. I have stayed at several cabins here over the years and I must say Monte Cristo is at the Top of my list when anyone asks me for a suggestion on a cabin to rent. You will not be disappointed!

We have 3 couples and a couple singles that found Monte Cristo online. The reviews, amenities, & pictures sold us on the cabin, and once we committed to the cabin the Owner was very helpful and responsive to our inquiries. As soon as we drove up (and I mean UP) to the cabin & walked in we all fell in love with it and the view. The cabin was spacious, very well kept, and plenty of room & privacy. The views were spectacular and we found ourselves getting up early just to watch the sunrise and changes in the view as the Great Smokies lived up to their name. The cabin is in a great location as it is about 2 minutes from the Parkway in Pigeon Forge, but you would never know you are that close. Highly recommend this cabin. Clean, spacious, great views, and owner was responsive to our needs.

My husband and I wanted to have a family vacation with our 3 grown children and their families, 5 grandchildren.I had been to Monte Cristo in November and loved the cabin, layout and the view. When thinking about our family vacation this cabin was my choice, easy to get to, best view I have ever had, good layout, for privacy if needed, together time. The beds are great and my daughters and grandchildren all agreed. Pool table was a favorite of the children. Will be back in the future.

We took off right after Tennessee getting pounded with ice. John, the owner was wonderful to deal with and he kept us informed on the road conditions going up to the cabin. He made calls for us around town and spoke with his housekeeper in the area. He once even told us if we wanted our money back he would gladly do it because he didn't want us traveling if we didn't feel comfortable. We had 4X4 trucks and had no problems getting to the cabin. I'm glad we made it because the cabin really does have the best views. The cabin is very nice and cozy. The downstairs was very nice for the big kids. They had the gaming systems and TV in each bedroom. It was like their own little apartment. The last day was 50 degrees and sitting on the deck looking out at the mountains sipping coffee was heaven. My small kids cried when we had to leave. Everyone had so much fun. I work for a hotel chain and understand what service in the hospitality industry means. You won't be disappointed with Monte Cristo. The owner John is awesome and will keep in touch with you if you need something. He is +1 service all the way!!!!!!! We will be back and recommend our friends to stay at Monte Cristo as well. Thank you for letting us use your beautiful cabin during our stay.
